We know that v2 already introduces breaking behavior changes and we can't avoid them. We were previously okay with different behavior between v1 and v2, so I see no reason to support the legacy type coercion in the v2 path. I do think it makes sense to support the SQL standard type coercion along with strict type coercion in v2, though.
