It avoids loss in favor of overflow...other DBs do the same as Spark was doing before this patch...I don't agree with this change honestly... The flag `spark.sql.decimalOperations.allowPrecisionLoss` means that operations between decimals should or not allow precision loss... it shouldn't control how we choose casting rules...
