I personally agree that this is among several things in the Spark project
that just don't need to be maintained by Spark. Any other votes on the issue of
removing this, to be maintained somewhere else?
But, this change itself looks small and logical, so I figure it's OK to
merge. I can't see how you'd want a directory that is readable but not
executable, so can only help.
