I think this is a good change. Although I believe that, yes, in practice it
all works as desired without this change, I also can't find that this behavior
is guaranteed. It also can be a tiny bit confusing to see two of the same arg
on the command line when you look at your running processes. It's a simple,
safe change so think can be merged into `master` and left at that.
