   hmm, so what is the difference using `requiredSchema` or `dataSchema`? When 
using the old path without nested schema pruning, the passed `requiredSchema` 
is always the source of truth. When `supportsNestedSchemaPruning` is false, we 
turn to `dataSchema`??
