Hello, I wanted to share with the community some of the things I’ve been working on recently. Please feel free to ask questions.
* Editorial Stream Drafts/RFCs Adopted - An ID to allow Mathematical notation in RFCs was recently adopted by the RSWG (co written with Martin Thomson and Lars Eggert): https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-editorial-rswg-mathinrfcs/ Published - RFC 9896 was published in January (coauthored with Martin Thomson, Nevil Brownlee, and Jean Mahoney) to decouple SVG policy from implementation details. The goal is to make the creation and inclusion of SVG graphics easier for RFC authors: https://www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfc9896 - RFC 9920 was published in February (coauthored with Paul Hoffman) to clarify policy implementation responsibilities and other issues in the RFC Editor Model: https://www.rfc-editor.org/info/rfc9920 * RFC-editor.org Revamp A new rfc-editor.org web site will launch shortly. Some of our goals were to make the site more friendly for RFC readers by clarifying/simplifying the site, improving the mobile experience, providing faster and more detailed search (including full text search of RFCs!), making the site text more SEO-friendly to improve search placement, and improving accessibility. (Read more on the IETF blog: https://www.ietf.org/blog/new-tools-coming-for-editing-and-publishing-rfcs/) We also finished the design and user testing for a set of interactive site features that we hope to launch later this year. * External Archives of RFCs Confirmed that the National Library of Sweden is maintaining their archive of RFCs (thanks to Eliot Lear for a helpful introduction). * Web Archiving of RFC Outlinks Ongoing task to archive outlinks for inclusion in the Wayback Machine from new RFCs soon after they are published. _______________________________________________ rfc-interest mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
