Yep got it to work using 1.4.2fc3, compiles fine.

This causes issues build certain programs i.e. openafs.
Is this a bug in beta1 or working as designed.

I know the OpenAFS folks are aware of this one. Although you need to
use a fairly new version of OpenAFS for things to be happy. What
version are you using?
