Wow...running with an HTTP-based install cut the time down to 30 minutes (the expected time for 10G of packages)

Looks like the NFS code in the PXE kernel is quite b0rked.

Try adding noipv6 to the boot command line, I think the recently added Anaconda ipv6 support isn't exactly perfect on pure ipv4 networks. It resulted in a long timeout at least in the initial network connection. See http://www.burdell.org/?p=472 for some background (look at the comments to).

You may also want to try installing via FTP/HTTP if you're using NFS or vice versa to rule those out.
