Folks, While experimenting with the Kernel source on beta 2, I installed and applied
rpmbuild -bb kernel-2.6.spec to get the source code in the /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/kernel-2.6.18/linux-2.6.18.i386/ directory but then I realized another version of the - same (?) - source code was made avaialble when I installed the kernel-2.6.18-1.2747.el5.src.rpm - in the /usr/src/kernels/2.6.18-1.2747.el5-i686 directory I can run make menuconfig in both directories, which suggests that I can customize and compile from either directory. Can anyone here explain the difference is between these source code directories?
