I know this is a little off topic, but I just installed the latest VMware
Server rpm on my freshly installed RJEL5beta2 box. I set up a RHEL4 guestOS
and clicked start. I just got a black console with bo text for a few
minutes, and then this error:

------------
Unable to change virtual machine power state:
The "/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-vmx" process did not start properly
Try running
"/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-vmx
/vmware/Virtual_Machines/ssvr.djj.virginia.gov/ssvr.djj.virginia.gov.vmx"
from the command-line on the server..
------------
Tried the suggestion above but it just hangs forever.

I searched and searched the VMware KB, but the only related threads were due
to perms and disk-space. Both of which are non-issues << yes, I'm 110%
sure ;-) >> I gave the dir 777 and have an abundance of disk space. All
processes are running as root and the modules are loaded - vmware-config.pl
did it's job perfectly.

My log says this:
------------/var/log/vmware/vmware-serverd.log
Error during launch: 11, The "/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-vmx" process did not
start properly
------------

When I turn debugging on I get:
------------
Error during launch: 11, The "/usr/lib/vmware/bin-debug/vmware-vmx" process
did not start properly
------------

Is anyone running VMware server on RHEL5 successfully. Has anyone encountered
this problem.

TIA!
Scott
