Changing a #define into a variable turns out to be a bad idea.
For one, performance reasons, and secondly it multiplies the amount
of QA work that needs to be done by however many options you offer.

I can understand that.. so I am guessing a
'kernel-hz250-2.6.18-03.ELsmp' is also out of the question. Along with
the kernel-rt and kernel-mm?

[Ok ok so I have money on whether we can get Dave to eat his sock
monkey before the end of the year. He has mental health coverage so
they should be able to put him together again by FC7 release date.]
