As far as I am aware, RHEL has never had an upgrade path between major
versions. The official response I got last time I asked was '"Archive
Data, Delete, Reinstall" is the only supported re-installation method.'

I know it's possible to upgrade from RHEL3 to RHEL4, because I've done
it. However, as it's not a supported method, I would suggest that RedHat
won't be putting a lot of time into making it work RHEL4->RHEL5.
