Glad you got it working; however, for the benefit to all, :-) I offer a
few comments...

1.  Installing with yum, or smart, or your-favorite-package-manager,
rather than rpm would have handled package precedence and any required
dependencies.

2.  Binaries built for the distro (or clone) are more likely to function
properly, and less likely to be problematic, than "generic" packages.

3.  I'd still recommend the CentOS repos for such "core" add-ons.

4.  Any of the above would presumably be unsupported by Red Hat, and so
might best be avoided if paying them for their fine support services.
