The hardware is fairly new. The insides were slightly dusty when I opened it us this afternoon to check, but not bad enough to cause a problem. Besides, Fedora 8 ran smoothly on this hardware.

if your definitely sure it's not hardware then its time to look through the package differences between the two distros and the kernel change log in case its a bug fix that redhat haven't patched yet.

I am not totally sure where the problem lies. I feel it's not the hardware but I'll check the voltages and fan speeds anyway.
