As much as I hate to promote Skype, yesterday I tried using these
instructions for Centos 5 with the skype 2 beta, and it worked for me.

Basically you get the binary rpm from skype, get the rpm key from the
alternative Austrian site mentioned in the howto, then "yum
localinstall" the rpm and all the necessary dependencies will be pulled
down automatically.

I didn't need to do anything else.
