[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# rpm -qa|grep libpcap libpcap-0.9.4-8.1 [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# rpm -ql libpcap /usr/lib64/libpcap.so.0 /usr/lib64/libpcap.so.0.9 /usr/lib64/libpcap.so.0.9.4 /usr/share/doc/libpcap-0.9.4 /usr/share/doc/libpcap-0.9.4/CHANGES /usr/share/doc/libpcap-0.9.4/LICENSE /usr/share/doc/libpcap-0.9.4/README /usr/share/man/man3/pcap.3.gz Tried to install devel package: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# rpm -ivh --nosignature libpcap-devel-0.9.4-8.1.i386.rpm error: Failed dependencies: libpcap.so.0.9.4 is needed by libpcap-devel-0.9.4-8.1.i386 rebuild the rpm database: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# rpm --rebuilddb again same error of libpcap.so.0.9.4 is needed by libpcap-devel-0.9.4-8.1.i386 did force installation with nodeps but snort from source as well as rpm package is failing, nodeps snort installation gives error. libpcap-0.9.4-8.1.i386.rpm libpcap-devel-0.9.4-8.1.i386.rpm versions are same. how to fix this libpcap problem or is this a bug? cpuinfo.
