hda: drive not ready

Did you try all variants along with the "hda=noprobe" options because I
suspect the two might not be related.

Well this might be the ticket. I tried hda=noprobe alone and I got the menus to pop up and the keyboard wasn't doing the double input. So, it appears I'll be able to try a network install now.
