Hello,
        Try putting this into /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date:

httpProxy=x.x.x.x:8080

        It works for https too.

Regards,
        Daniel

Subject: [rhelv5-list] yum to xmlrpc.rhn.redhat.com over proxy

Hi Red Hat users

According man yum.conf I added

# cat /etc/yum.conf
[...]
proxy=https://x.x.x.x:8080
[...]

Yum is timing-out and on proxy server i see no request from this source.

Manually with "wget" and environment variable there is no problem
connecting to RHN.
# echo $https_proxy
https://x.x.x.x:8080

cheers
Simon
