Great, thanks! That seems to be what I was looking for. And then
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifup-eth is echoing the BONDING_OPTS into
the individual bonds:
for arg in $BONDING_OPTS ; do
key=${arg%%=*};
value=${arg##*=};
echo $value > /sys/class/net/${DEVICE}/bonding/$key
done
