OK, it looks like my question was not clear enough. When user X is logged in (via a graphical session), running a command as another user (via text console, after su, via vnc etc.) doesn't see any sound devices. I chmod'ed some audio/dsp/snd devices to 666, but then I get some an about an IPC semaphore. I explicitly want to run the sound-producing command as the other user, so su/sudo'ing from that other user to the logged-in user is not an option. -- -- Jos Vos <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- X/OS Experts in Open Systems BV | Phone: +31 20 6938364 -- Amsterdam, The Netherlands | Fax: +31 20 6948204 _______________________________________________ rhelv5-list mailing list [email protected] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rhelv5-list
