We don't have Satellite, but we just updated our first two test systems to 5.2 directly from RHN and it was a total pain. It took almost 24 hours for both systems to update because the update would start, then abort, and wait until the next polling cycle to start again (we didn't try to force it, just let the systems upgrade by themselves after scheduling the update via RHN). Both systems eventually finished, each with multiple duplicated RPM's that we then had to clean up. One of the systems was an x86_64 bit and it had probably 20 duplicated packages. It certainly seems that things are a little flaky with the whole 5.2 release.
