I've never heard of a truly one-way connexion. Place I work used to have
satellite, but it used a phone line to complete the circuit. From that
location's perspective, incoming traffic came out of the sky, and
responses (and outbound stuff) all went out the phone line.
Apart from its highly asymmetric chracteristics (and delays as triffic
goes to the satellite and back), it was an internet connexion like any
other, and all the usual protocols work just fine.
If there really is no feedback, then when errors occur, how can you
overcome them?
