Hi everyone,
I am facing a problem that I need to transfer some files (server to
client) over a one-way only communications channel (satellite
download
only connection). Does anyone know of any ready made application (or
script) to help with that ? I guess the server would need to generate
and push forward error correction FEC data along with the files
(since
there's no NACKs).
Any previous experience or thoughts is highly appreciated
I've never heard of a truly one-way connexion.
Aside from the OP's satellite link, my company sells a Data-Diode to
provide true one-way file transfer.
So...you're saying that if the OP can replace their satellite link
with a
fiber optic link your company has a solution? But, wouldn't that
require
the development of the space elevator first?
Uh, no thats not what I'm saying at all.
I was just showing that such things do exist.
Silly me. I thought our responses were supposed to address the actual
issue faced by the poster. :-) :-)
Settle down there, Ed:-) I think he was assuring _me_ that done-way
datalinks exist.
I already knew of one-way data transfers (syslog for example), but not
reliable ones.
