Ok, it seems "irqpoll" option only helps with kernel-PAE.. 
if I boot kernel-xen with "irqpoll", it doesn't help and the console is
messed up.. and the USB IRQ error is a bit different:

and also hypervisor/xen symbols visible in the traceback.. instead of only the
usb/interrupt stuff when running kernel-PAE.
