Hi all,

I have a very strange problem updating kernel on a rhel5.2 server (to
2.6.18-92.1.17). When I try to install this new kernel, rpm returns this
error:

 Running rpm_check_debug
Running Transaction Test
Finished Transaction Test
Transaction Test Succeeded
Running Transaction
  Installing: kernel ######################### [1/1]
/sbin/mkinitrd: line 368: cd: slaves: No such file or directory

and stay here over and over time util I press Ctrl+C. I see on
bugzilla.redhat.com a bug reported with the same problem some time ago:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=439371, but I am using correct
mkinitrd version:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# rpm -qa |grep mkinitrd
mkinitrd-5.1.19.6-28
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]#

I can install kernel without problems if I comment ALL crypttab file ....
whereis the error?? is it a rhel bug or do I make a mistake??

On the another side, when finally I can install new kernel, only when I
comment out crypttab lines, when server reboots returns this error when
encryption disk is displaying:

 "modprobe: WARNING: Error inserting padlock
(/lib/modules/2.6.18-92.1.17.el5/kernel/drivers/crypto/padlock.ko): No such
device"

this error disappears if I put "alias aes aes-i586" or "alias aes
aes_generic" in modprobe.conf file.

At this point, I have tried it to re-install pevious kernel 2.6.18-92.1.13
without luck: all problems described returns ... What am I doing wrong??

 Many thanks.
