It is probably a bug in mkinitrd. Here is one that is currently ON_QA that is at least similar to yours ... https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=447841 You might test the new packages in that BZ and see if they fix your problem too. If not you might try downgrading mkinitrd and nash and see if that works.
