Thanks for your reply. I consider to adjust this on many virtual (vmWare) servers runnning mostly IBM Websphere application server. Do you know of any negative impacts on such applications? I tested with 100 and 1000 Hz timer interrupt rate on a othervise idle VM, and noticed about 2% difference in average CPU consumption reported from vmWare for that particular host.
