I decided to do that.

rpm --nodeps -e dapl.x86_64 dapl.i386 dapl-devel.x86_64 dapl-devel.i386
yum update
yum install  dapl.x86_64 dapl.i386 dapl-devel.x86_64 dapl-devel.i386

This worked fine as far as I can tell.
