Upgrading some rhel 4.8 workstations to 5.4 recently resulted in some odd behaviour from applications like nedit and Qt designer. Nedit was exhibiting problems with text selection and movement and qt-designer had problems displaying widgets properly. The users home directories are on nfs which is a likely culprit but these apps both work fine under 4.8 using the same nfs settings and display configs. Reducing the rsize and wsize settings down to 8k seemed to help a bit but the problem persists.
Is this a known issue? If so, what's the solution? -Corey
