Remember : his grand-grand-grand-father (father of the painter Vincent van
Gogh) was a protestant pastor in Netherlands, and Vincent himself began studies
in theology (1877, Amsterdam), then joined an evanglical church in Brussels
(1878) before being for a while missionary in the Borinage region (Southern
Belgium) (late '70). No known trace of a conversion to judaism in the family.
So... you were right being not aware!
