I say this knowing that the United States has audio recordings supportring the claim of the crew of Liberty that Israel did recon the vessel on several occaissions starting at around 0605 the morning of June 8. It is important to note here and now that the U.S. is the only military vessels in the world at this time that carried her marking on bith sides of her bow, and it should also be noted that that any amature photographer could have seen the difference between the Egyptian vessel and Liberty. It is also important to note that the only documents released by the United States government are those AFTER the assault, nothing prior or during. I don't recall you mention the legal advisor for the navy responsible for finalizing the Official conclusion by the United States Government, nor do you mention the the phone conversation with Nasser, could it be possible that you have only the facts that both Israel and the United States want you to have. I don't place blame on Israel, at least not yet, but I do blame the U.S. for allowing Liberty to be so close to a war zone unescorted. In fact you could really make a case that then President Johnson had more to do with what happen to Liberty than did the Israeli's themselves. That view is not a popular one here in America, but I do know this, The American Government went to great lengths to protect Israel from public scrutny. Before you start your rebuttal on all this I should point out also that my sources are close to the heart on this matter, from former CIA operatives, to the those decoding and transcribing the messages from listening post in Greece, Labanon, and Germany, just like one big happy family, know what I mean. I also noticed you failed or I just did not see where you mention the the periscope pictures taking from an American sub that was shadowing Liberty for a couple of days. Once gain the question must be raised why did the sub not assist Liberty when she was attacked. Just food for some thought. If you are going to write papers on the attack at least do the American and Israeli people right and make sure what you are writing is based on ALL THE FACTS, not just what both governments want people to believe, cause you never know when someone like me is going to be reading and realize that what you are reporting is all the facts, otherwise one day someone waiting for the right time my write a book that blows yours and other reports like them out of the water and supports the book with actual pics and documents that no one as ever seen. The one thing about this that really slays me is that eyewitness testimony has always been acccepted in any court of law. The Liberty survivors are eyewitness testimony to what really happened, and yet we are not believed. We have some people saying that we didn't see what we thought we saw, and that in the heat of battle that the trauma dimmed our eyesight, or some such thing such as that. If that is the case then I wonder why we accept at face value what the surivors of the Holocaust have said? They certainly were in extreme trauma, and that includes not only Jews but other nationalalities as well.
