What are you doing here? Seriously, what do you want to achieve with your internet interest in all things progressive and your gripes about Bush policies and how everything is going to hell? I'll tell you what you are doing here. You are waiting for someone to tell you what you can do. You are looking for like-minded people to commiserate with about the same things. Look, there is nothing wrong with that. Everyone on the left is a bit lost. It was easier when we had or have specific projects. There are goals to work at and there is a progressive agenda. We must define that agenda. But don't look for consensus. We don't have it on the left. We have anarchists, socialist, greens, anarcho-socialists, liberals, some (capitalist) libertarians, social democrats -- and a myriad of other humanist elements. We do have a progressive goal oriented agenda and you all know what it is without my repeating it here point by point. We do that all the time in the articles and discussion posted here anyway. In a couple of words, we have a goal that is enumerated at http://pnews.org/signup.shtml ... We are doing here and what we need to be doing is promote justice and equity and to support progressive change. And as a group, loosely aligned, we can only be successful if we coalesce in a true participatory and representative democracy -- which we do not have. That is what we should be working to achieve. The LEFT must become the united opposition forces, and become an OPPOSITION PARTY --- that does not currently exist in American politics today. I believe that should be our ultimate goal.
