they have tried as best the can to do that leslie. war is hell no matter how you look at it.but it is also not clean and to pick on every little thing that gets done as if they could avoid it? this would be simple . it has been explained that as soon as there is negotiation in good faith, there is an effort made to contain terrorism and dennouce it, the fence could come down. right now it is a defense and as some articles i have sent here reflect, the arabs are finding some respite from terrorism also. i ask what country has done more to insure less civilian deaths than israel and no one answers. because they can't. it is sorry that lives have to be disrupted, but would you rather more israelis die? is that better? ti is a hard decision. the knesset has stopped portions of the fence that enroach to much,so they try and do as they can. as sara has pointed out this isn't palestinian land, they have refused a settlement of any kind, there for the land is disputed and nothing more. when their leaders sit down and for real negotiate a fair and just settlement, then it might be their land. they would also have to promise not to send more terrorists out once they are a state. as a state it would be more difficult to go after them. can you not see israelis problems here? Even one percent of one percent is unacceptable if it results in untold misery, hardship and further dehumanization of a people. I always say to others when this subject comes up. Pause and reflect were it you and your families whose daily lives were like the Palestinians where you never know from one day to another, not whether, but when your homes would be destroyed, families killed and maimed, or confined to your homes without the basic human needs and not able to go from point A to point B. Or if you were Jewish and never knowing when a suicide bomber would blow up the bus with you and your family. This is what has been hapenning for far too long and all because of insatiable greed. Do not be deceived in accepting the explanation that the atrocities committed on others is foremost for security. It was'nt so in Afghanistan, Iraq or in Palestine for the past umpteen years; neither will it be when the time comes to attack China, impovrished Cuba or other States. Daily on the internet I read of people spewing their venom on others with opposing views, ( so much so that I now erase certain ones without reading ) when in fact it should be directed to those leaders, the architects of violence, plot and ploys primarily for personal rewards for themselves and their group. It is amazing how many, with captured and subdued minds, cling to the fallacy that much of what these Schemers do is for the people, the man in the street, the workers and soldiers whose welfare and lives are on the line. Always present are the Mass Media, the supporting cast that dispense the Schemers propaganda to gain favouritism to the breaking news, they are equally as guilty and debased as those they serve. When we talk about defending the 'homeland', it must first be against those designing (wo)men among us with insatiable greed who are in positions to do the greatest harm to our future and offspring under the guise of patriotism. Next to look at are those that hold position as staunchest allies that will inveigle us to participate in their secret designs on the assumption that all can share in the booty, ie. to own the whole wide world and its peoples. Oh if only more of us could see ourselves as we truly are, it would save future generations and the world from the ever increasing savagery that surely will devour us all. Rightly said, if there must be fences, then put it on your side where the original lines were drawn.
