It was no doubt better than under the Christians. Afterall there were no
inquisitions but there were massacres and there were periods of quitude
just as there were in Christian land. Jews (and other non-Muslims, but
especially the Jews) were always second class citizens and the imposition
of special cloths and not being able to practice certain professions and
to never contest a Muslim's assertions or rights over them was always
their lot. Not exactly golden.

They lost the war but for 19 years they not only kept Jews out of
Jerusalem when they took in in 1948, they took every grave and desecrated
it and used the tomestones in their latrines, but you forget there is a
peace with Jordan and yet there is still "no Jews allowed" in Jordan.
There is also no Jews allowed in Saudi Arabia and Jews were murdered in
Mecca and Medina and thrown out as they were in Syria, in Iraq, and
elsewhere and the only catastrophe for the Arabs was that they didn't get
Israel too when they got all of Jordan which was almost 70% of the Mandate
and they got the West Bank and Sumaria, which they lost in the war of 67,
another catastrophe no doubt.

That was not serious and you know it Wesley. There is also a very small
Jewish community in Iraq of about 30 or so Jews too old to leave. If it
was so great many would have returned. One of my dear friends fled Iraq
and lived near me in Florida. It was hell before Saddam and I doubt it was
any better with Saddam.

Don't believe it. My parents were Litvaks and Ashkanazi and some cousins
married Separdim. These differences you speak of are mostly fictions. It
is all one people with a lot of differences but mostly the same genetic
code marks them all in spite of claims to the contrary about the Khazars,
etc, which is also another fiction, since disproved.

Israel has always acknowledged there is compensation, something Arabs do
not do (not even one case of it happening) and Israel has already
compensated many Arabs and allowed many to return from those who could
prove it was for family reunification and if there was peace there would
be more compensation for those who can prove entitlement. First there must
be peace. The Israelis are willing.

The new Arab leader Abu Abas may be willing.
