Individuals can and should be involved in Anti-War protests.

Anti-War activity can and should be independent of election politics.

I don't trust National Democrats much. But I live in Kansas, and the
Kansas Democratic Party is weak. We ran a progressive anti-war US Senate
candidate named Lee Jones this year, and he was only able to raise $80,000,
which is woefully inadequate, and he got almost no media coverage. The KDP is
struggling and it needs all the help it can get, so it's willing to accept help
from progressives. This gives progressives some leverage and puts us in a
position to help to shape the KDP. That DOES NOT mean that we should trust
anybody completely, but I never trusted political parties much anyway! We're
not giving our hearts or our souls to any party, but I think we do need an
organizational base.
Your e-mail name indicates that you live in Illinois. Kansas is
nothing like Illinois--it's in a different world.

Among the americans who support the bush agenda I would list the
democrats in the senate, the democrats in the House, the democrats on
the Democratic National Committee, and above all a couple of imerialist
jerks named Kerry & Edwards.

The aggressive intolerant stance of the u.s. government is not going to
be changed as long as the DP maintains its hegemony over the left.

The anti-war movement virtually disappeared in to the the ABB hysteria,
and it looks like it is going to be difficult to put it back together
again. The DP once again performed gallantly and with tremendous success
its historical task of blunting, absorbing, and demoralizing, and
dissipating progressive mass movements.
