Hi, I currently have paid a company to build a pricecomparison website for me. This price comparison website imports different feeds from webshops in order to collect the shopoffers and update them accordingly.
At the moment it only imports and updates product feeds of two "formats" (from two different affiliate companies): - Example 1 (tradetracker.net): http://pf.tradetracker.net/?fid=727&aid=37743&type=xml&encoding=utf-8&categoryType=2&additionalType=2 - Example 2 (affiliate4you.nl): Affiliate4you formaat: http://affiliate4you.nl/partner_feed.php?web=392&adv=143&subid=884&type=xml For both kinds of feeds they made special parsers were made to daily update different webshop feeds from their respecti locations. What i´m looking for is a way to extend these two formats and make it possible for me (im not an it guy/coder) to connect different kind of feed formats to my own database. In the market there are litterally hundreds of different formats: XML, CSV etc. with data in them being different as well (prices for one webshop are 12,99, but for others 12.99 / 1= in stock, but for another company in stock = "In Stock" / etc. etc. I've been told that .Rhino ETL is a perfect open source tool to make it possible to read these many formats and makes it possbile for me to connect feeds to my own database without being a coder. My questions: 1. Is it true that this piece of software can help me with this problem? 2. How many hours (roughly) would a professional need to connect this to the back end of the website? 3. Is it true that once it is installed most formats can be read and implemented by me without the need of a coder/IT-person? Hope to hear from you. Kind regards, Nick. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Rhino Tools Dev" group.
