The guides on github are quite straightforward to follow. You need an ssh client, either openssh or putty. Did you create your ssh key? If not you can do it with the tools which come with putty and the use pageant - which comes with putty as well - as an authentication agent. I never used TortoiseGit, I guess it should work out of the box, but in any case you can try msysgit.
