Simone, I finally was able to make a 'push'. I had problems with
configuring the ssh auth but checked out a fresh version with my
credentials instead of 'public' and then push worked.  The tortoise
git experience was quite bad for me, but the tool isn't to blame,
rather my lack of knowledge. Hope you are all happy with it...
Anyway, Ayende should have the patch now, hope it's good enough to
make it to the trunk. This bug has very nasty consequences when left
in production code - application becomes unstable and grinds to a halt
and the cause is quite hard to find.
