My bus host is running on a server with MSMQ 3 while my client is running on my win7 dev machine with MSMQ 4. Should this be an issue? The queues are getting set up correctly on each machine (queue#name vs subqueues). I can see with a packet sniffer that the communication is happening (e.g. connections coming in over port 1801) but the message is never sent to the destination queue. I can manually send a message from my dev machine with QueueExplorer and the host correctly sends it to the error queue.
