Confederate flag supporters from around the South will be rallying at the
South Carolina State House in Columbia. The rally comes as an act of protest to
a bill currently in the house titled H-3588 which is said that if passed it
will remove the Confederate Battle Flag flying in honor over the South Carolina
Confederate soldiers monument on the state house lawn. It is also said that the
bill may bring about the removal of the monument completely.

Last week on Christmas Eve, after many backroom deals were made, the Senate
passed the healthcare reform bill with a strictly partisan vote. I was
pleased that my colleagues in the GOP are on the right side of this bill.
Although this vote was a major step in healthcare reform becoming reality,
they still have to reconcile the Senate bill with the House-passed version
in conference committee. This could prove even more difficult and costly
than the Senate vote.

A passenger onboard a flight from the Netherlands to the United States
allegedly attempted to blow up the aircraft as it was landing at Detroit
Metropolitan Airport, according to a source with the FBI-NYPD Joint
Terrorism Task Force.
Within minutes of the news breaking about the attempt, an NYPD detective
told NewsWithViews.com that the suspect-passenger claimed to be acting on
behalf of al-Qaeda in the attempted bombing of Northwest Airlines Flight #253
from Amsterdam-to-Detroit.

An article appeared last week on the Kansas City Star website titled: “Work
visa program is rife with problems.” This article was brought to my
attention by an old friend who had for years, until recently, held a
significant position on Capitol Hill.
This article is of great importance for a number of extremely important
reasons beginning with national security, although the article never even
mentions the issue of national security. As you read the article, please
note that the visa fraud discussed in the news report has been allegedly
ongoing for a decade. I would remind you that the terrorist attacks of
September 11, 2001 occurred more than 8 years ago. I would also remind you that
among the findings of the 9/11 Commission, to which I provided
testimony, was the fact that the terrorists who savagely attacked our nation
engaged in visa fraud and immigration benefit fraud.

Through nine arrests, no one questioned whether 14-year-old Noel Cruz-Diego was
in the U.S. legally until he was charged with burglary, robbery and stabbing a
Lakeland man 43 times last month. 14 year old Noel Cruz-Diego
appears in court for a first appearance bond hearing at the Polk County Jail
in Bartow Fl.., Tuesday December 8, 2009. Cruz-Diego is charged with
attempted felony murder and burglary in an attack on Daniel Granton on
November 18. Juvenile arrest reports obtained by The Ledger this week detail
charges against him during 2 1/2 years and show that law enforcement knew for
at least two years the teen was born in Mexico. But an immigration detainer
wasn’t placed on the teenager until recently by the U.S. Department of Homeland
Security, when the agency was notified of Cruz-Diego’s questionable status by
the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, according to DHS officials. Although a minor,
Cruz-Diego faces adult charges in the most recent case, in which he is accused
of breaking into Daniel Granton’s home Nov. 18 and stabbing him.
