Michael Barone asked the question, is the Tea Party fading? Yesterday, I was doing a radio interview and I was asked point blank, why the Tea Party was not doing anything. In some ways, this movement’s high water mark were the Tax Day Tea Party rallies of two years ago. In major cities and small towns across the country, millions turned out for rallies. A year later the rallies were much fewer and much smaller. In 2011, rallies are almost non-existent. While the first National Tea Party Convention was a huge success, follow up events have not been so successful. Across the web, Tea Party websites are seeing their ratings falling significantly. One major Tea Party site has fallen so far that it is not even ranked any more. In Wisconsin, the recent ground zero for right/left conflict, union activists outnumbered the Tea Party considerably. Of course, the Teachers Union and others had their members leave work illegally and they were still getting paid, while Tea Party activists had to take their own time and money to get there. Now, as Barone points out, there is an election for the Wisconsin Supreme Court that could change everything by putting a liberal on the Court and giving the liberals a 4-3 majority. There are a combination of factors as to why this movement may be down for now. First, this is the political lull season. The Presidential races have not fired up yet. This will happen later in the year. Another reason we may be seeing this is fatigue. When Obama first came into office and the Obama, Pelosi, Reid axis of fiscal evil began to wreck the economy with massive government spending, people were shocked and outraged. Anger can only carry you for so long. Budgets and deficits in the trillions no longer shock people. We have become numb to it. There is probably one other factor too. That is the economy. Under Obama, things have gotten so bad that many people cannot afford to take time off or are too busy trying to find jobs to be able to be involved or go to events. I have seen this personally. I was telling a friend a couple of days ago, I am basically working part time in my law practice now. Clients who five years ago would have hired me are now going with court appointed lawyers. We are in an “in-between” stage in the economy. People are bad off enough that they are not doing things and going places because of the economy, but are not yet so bad off that they will go to the streets for much more forceful protests. In the next few months, we will see a revival of the conservative movement. We must. The thought of four more years of an un-American President is simply too much. The country could not survive it and it must be prevented. This movement came out of nowhere and has done things no one would have predicted or believed. I do not think this movement is finished, but we are in for some interesting times ahead. ATPI Comment In Two weeks we need to show our movement is not fading. We must rally and get back out there. We have invited Tea Party groups from all across Texas for one massive rally in Grand Prairie Texas where we had great success last year. Over the last couple of years we have caught the eye of the Independent voter and they delivered us with great victory in the Texas State legislature with 100 republican seats. That scenario was played all across the country state after state. We must keep them on our side. Don't ever think for one minute we did this by ourselves, we don't have those kinds of numbers. We cannot show weakness. We don't have time to be tired of the battle. The Nation depends on the Tea Partys to lead the way. Soon the Arlington Tea Party will be running ads promoting ourselves and the Lone Star Tax Day Tea Party. As far as we know we will be the first in the Nation to do so. There are couple of things you can do to help. #1. show up for the rally on April 15th (see details on the main page lonestarteaparty.us. #2. bring a friend for a wonderful Friday evening at the Ball Park. #3. Buy one of our Hot New T Shirts which helps support the event even if you can't be there (shirt design below purchase on front pg) lonestarteaparty.us Social Network LSTP2_t-shirt_flyer.pdf Visit Lone Star Tea Party at: http://lonestarteaparty.us/?xg_source=msg_mes_network To control which emails you receive on Lone Star Tea Party, click here -- Always remember and never forget.
