I accepted Pres Bush’s proclamation after the WTC attack, to go after terrorists wherever they may exist. When Obama took Osama out, I assumed that it was the FISA Court that authorized this strike, possibly previously approved during the Bush Admin. So last month when a drone killed al-Alwaki, I assumed (short for makes an “ass-out-of-you-me”), that it was a FISA operation. Obama said he was operating under UN authority. Both are wrong.
