Hi all

Couple of horse trailer questions.

What is the general opinion about the little cable dealie that is designed to
trip a safety brake if the trailer were to somehow become dis-engaged from
the hitch? My brake and tire guy seems to think they are more of a hazard
than a help - that having a disconnected trailer suddenly lock up its brakes
would offer more potential for disaster than whatever awfulness is the option.

What is acceptable/standard about greasing up the hitch? I hate it when the
mechanism for cranking the trailer gets all stiff and resistant. Can I just
pour some lubricant down along the length of the thing? Do you grease the
hitch itself?

thanks, love my Sundowner and want to do it right!
