I agree with Tom Sites and Truman - whatever the reason is that the ROC is not 
sanctioned - it should still be held.  I rode ROC in '88 (I think!) and crewed the 
winning horse in Utah and the fifth place horse one year in Colorado, and the third 
place horse in Kentucky (the years all blur together now!!) It was a premier ride with 
GREAT qualifications.  500 hundred milers - how many people can say they have done 
that on one horse?  Used to be alot of us.  ROC was the highlight of my endurance 
career.  I don't care that I didn't get my AERC miles for it.  I am glad I got to go, 
and I'd do it again.

Now I get to say "yabbut" ;) -- as in, "yabbut == Susan eliminated the qualifications 
by the time it was finally sanctioned --- so now every horse is "ROC qualified"...
