There are only 16 rules now.

If history is to serve as any kind of a teacher, you
bet RM's need AERC!  Back in July of '88, 7 horses
died on trail and others died after they got home. 
This was at a non-AERC sanctioned ride.  The very next
day, in practically the same heat in humidity (108
degree temp/70% humidity) an AERC-sanctioned ride was
held just a few miles from the origional ride and had
100% completition.  Some of those horses, and most of
the riders are still riding to this day!

AERC would be just 4 letters without us RMs!  We need
eachother AND riders.  We need this discussion (civil)
in order to be a stronger and wiser organization.
