There are only 16 rules now. > Do RM's really need AERC to put on a > ride? If history is to serve as any kind of a teacher, you bet RM's need AERC! Back in July of '88, 7 horses died on trail and others died after they got home. This was at a non-AERC sanctioned ride. The very next day, in practically the same heat in humidity (108 degree temp/70% humidity) an AERC-sanctioned ride was held just a few miles from the origional ride and had 100% completition. Some of those horses, and most of the riders are still riding to this day! > and what exactly would AERC be without the > RM'S busting their butts and spending their own > money so people can come and have fun? AERC would be just 4 letters without us RMs! We need eachother AND riders. We need this discussion (civil) in order to be a stronger and wiser organization. ===== Susan Young Casey, Princess of Pink, LIW, RRHA, RHS Semper Obliquo (Always aside) Glenndale Grace Farm, Ft Gibson, Oklahoma U.S.A.
