Well... I wouldn't use the word stupid...(well...maybe I would <bg>) but what 
are you suposed to be riding in the meantime? What will you be learning on? 
How do you know what kind of horse you want...some folks like fast, some 
slow, some gaited, some not, some hot, some cool, some cold! I have four 
horses, three of which I am learning about distance riding. Last thing I need 
to do is buy another one what I'm not even sure what my style is yet! I rode 
my first CTR on my coldie horse and found that a bit too slow so am moving on 
to my warm horse! I'm not a beginning rider...but endurance is a whole new 
breed of horsemanship (to me). Things I would treasure in a doe-de-doe horse 
might not be the same thing I do in an endurance horse.

Oh yeah...and remember....horses are real easy to buy and real hard to sell. 
They'll always be another "prospect" out there.
