I love the shredded beet pulp, since I board, it makes it much easier for me, and I have had the pellets go rancid if I soak too long.  My horses love it, and I add Strategy by weight depending on how hard they are working.  I'm not sure, but I seem to remember that's what Purina CA is, beet pulp and Strategy.  I buy the beet pulp for about $8 or $9 and Strategy for about $10.  I don't have to use as much Strategy as they do though, I can tailor it to the horse.
