We just got a new rig this last fall and boy was I afraid that I was going to be the one to mess up.  I had never driven a diesel or a dually and had only pulled a gooseneck a few times.  So I taped a sign on the center of the steering wheel saying...

    Diesel Fuel
    Swing Wide
Extra Long         (so I didn't change lanes and run the trailer into someone)
Extra Wide         (the dual wheels and trailer were wider than I was used to)

I drove it this way for about a month before I took the sign off.  And whenever I would stop to get fuel I would be so paranoid that I would look two or three times and then in my mind say. Diesel... D-I-E-S-E-L... Diesel... They had me so afraid that I might put in the wrong fuel  (we have two trucks, a 150/gas and a 350/diesel).
Anyway... now I hop in and go anywhere, no problem.   But at first it helped me feel better to have my "pre-flight checklist".
