Cab-osil (M-5 Fluka) is glassy SiO2 with high specific surface
(200+-25m**2/g). It pertains to the category of "solid filler
materials" used for surrounding particles in a non-orienting medium.
For a list of other possibilities, see : Modern Powder Diffraction,
Reviews in Mineralogy Vol 20), D.L Bish & J.E. Post, Editors,
p. 85 (1989).
It is really not expensive (buying 250g will cost you a few $ and
you will have enough for the rest of your life).
I love the idea to use instant coffee, and will give it a try soon.
Thanks to Graham Patterson !

P.S. 1 -Thanks to Lubo for the proposition to scan a sample.
P.S. 2 - In spite of my wishes, I received an advertisement for
a spray drying system costing 2-3K. Is it really 500
orders of magnitude better than instant coffee or Cab-osil,
or capillary ?-).
