Dear User of PowderX,

PowderX Update information:

Aug, 24-25,1999
The reference are given in the on-line help and the User's Manual.
1. "PowderX: Windows-95 based program for powder X-ray diffraction
 data processing", C. Dong, J. Appl. Cryst. (1999), 32, 838-838

2. "A new Cu Ka2-elimination algorithm" , C. Dong, H. Chen and F. Wu,
   J. Appl. Cryst. (1999). 32, 168 - 173
3."Correction of zero shift in powder diffraction patterns using the
   reflection-pair method", C. Dong, F. Wu and H. Chen,
   J. Appl. Cryst. (1999). 32, (to be included in the Oct. or Dec. Issue)

PowderX can read Maximum 25000 data points. (HUBER Imaging Plate Guinier
Camera 670 one can get a maximum of 20001 data points.)
Change made to dispay two set of data in zoom plot for linear-algebra
calculation. The references is added to the on-line help and the User's
Manual.

July 7, 1999
fixed a bug in reading RIET7 format data, and linear algebra of the data set
is added under the menu "Calculation". The program can not fit in 4
disks, and the 5th disk have only 5K content now.

June 29, 1999
The fine-Print routine has been change to fix bugs.
Changes made to read *.CPI data with long sample name and data file from
TsingHua (*.usr) with 3 lines header or without header.
The Dhkl form has been changed to show all the text clearly.

March 22, 1999
VB version Eracel (refcel) was added to do cell parameter refinement.
The original Fortran version was obtained from Prof. Le Bail.
There is a command button (refine cell) within the Dhkl form (below Menu
Indexing), and it is only available (and visible) after you run Dhkl
"calculation" and "peak match" first.
If you do Treor after peak search, and a good result have been obtained.
The Dhkl is automaticly shown with the indexed result (symmetry, a,b,c,
alpha, beta, gama, but not the lattice type). Then you click on "calculation",
and "Peak Match" button, the "refine cell" command button will be shown.
Clicking on this button, the Eracel result will be shown. The reult have a
section which can be used as the input text file for Eracel of Fortran
version.

Changes made for plot output by printer. It is not depends on screen
resolution now.
Changes made on the form color to make the forms looks bettter.
